Cragside near Rothbury, Northumberland, is a truly amazing place. William Armstrong made his money designing, building and selling weapons of various kinds, but he was also an amazing engineer and innovator. His house Cragside was one of the first buildings to be lit with electric lights (using hydroelectricity no less), and it had many other extremely modern and innovative features for the contemporary times.
He also landscaped the surrounding moorland into an impressive woodland estate.
More photos of the estate and house will follow (non Pentax Q shots).
