Fountains Abbey, illuminated on a winter's evening.
These were all shot handheld. I've photographed Fountains Abbey at night before, a couple of times (one with fog, one without), and I just thought this time: why not do it a bit more spontaneously, without the tripod etc? Quick handheld shots.
So I did. And I like the results. Yes, they would have been "better" photos (brighter, cleaner, sharper) if I had been using a tripod and much lower ISO/smaller aperture etc, but at the same time what I have to remember is that I probably wouldn't have taken the same shots.
Too many photographers worry about "pixel peeping", and not enough about what they are actually photographing.
