Vanessa has been working for Royal Mail for twenty years, and has been collecting mail in the northern Yorkshire Dales for the last five. She's pretty keen to keep her beat, and it's not hard to see why: every day she gets to see some of the most beautiful parts of the country, as it changes with weather and season.
I came with her as she collected mail in Arkengarthdale and Swaledale: she has one hour to get from Reeth, up Arkengarthdale to Tan Hill, and back down Swaledale to Reeth. That's quite a feat.
She is also an extremely fun, friendly, and, simply, very nice person, and it was great to meet her and see her work. And it was also good to see that her love affair with Adidas is quite evident: her trainers, her key-ring, and her phone case. Colourful!
Follow her on twitter to see the great shots she posts from her travels around the Dales: Royal Mail hold a competition each year for photos taken on rounds to be included in their internal calendar. Here's hoping that Vanessa can come up with a winner.
