St Nicholas Gardens in Richmond is having its first open day of the year this Sunday. St Nicholas is built on the site of a medieval hospital, and is the oldest inhabited house in Richmond. It was also the home of Lady Serena James, a beloved and eccentric resident for more than 50 years until her death in 2000. The rose named after her husband, "Bobbie" James, grows on the walls of the house.
Garden lovers should make sure to come and visit. See the website for details of the openings.
