Silent Traveller in the Yorkshire Dales

I was given a fascinating book recently, "Silent Traveller in the Yorkshire Dales" by Chiang Lee, about a Chinese traveller's journey through the Yorkshire Dales in the mid-twentieth century. I haven't finished reading it yet, but I have spied ahead at all the paintings and drawings that illustrate the text, and found it really fascinating to see the Yorkshire Dales depicted in a traditional Chinese style of art.

So, of course, I decided to have a scour of my photographs of the Yorkshire Dales and see if I could find the exact locations, or at least a close thematic match. Below are the results..

Apologies for reproducing the paintings and drawings, but as the book is no longer in print I didn't think there was anything wrong with sharing them with a wider audience.
