Bolder Mere at night

A visit to Lake Bolder Mere at night.

Not on the topic of photography, but bicycle headlights are so good now. I tried out a recently purchased set of headlights tonight, and not only were they about 1/3 the price of the previous ones I was using, but are about 4-5 times brighter. Amazing. I even think they are brighter than my motorcycle headlight.. (Which isn't difficult, as I can barely see where I'm going on dark roads with that thing..)

Those lights on the other side of the lake are the A3, which runs right alongside the lake. Even on a Sunday night, it was incredibly busy. It's not a peaceful place, sadly..

This was supposed to be a startrail shot, but it quickly became apparent that it was going to be a "planetrail" shot instead. Such is the life of a photographer setting up underneath Heathrow's takeoff route..
Compare and contrast with the star trail shot here taken at Malham, North Yorkshire.
