Dawn above Crinkle Crags

Seeing the sun rise from the top of Crinkle Crags.

This is what the Milky Way looks like as a half hour star trail shot. Crowded, is the word you're looking for..

I hadn't had much sleep the night before (actually, any sleep at all). Once the sun had come up and warmed me out I dozed peacefully in the sun for about an hour. I was woken by the honking of several hundred geese flying over.

They came in big waves. I guess they use the hills of the Lakes as navigation beacons on their way south. 

I love the way the Lake District can make house sized boulders look like pebbles.
