Day three. Further wanderings in the floating city. Lots and lots of wandering..
I don't get lost easily. Usually I don't get lost at all. I've got a good sense of direction, and I'm good at taking bearings from things like the sun etc.
Except all those things are pretty useless in the city of Venice. Even on a sunny day, deep down in the narrow alleys it is almost impossible to tell where the sun is. And those alleyways: criss-crossing each other, bending, turning, but never in nice neat 90 degree angles. Even when you know you're heading in the right direction, two turns later and you could be facing any direction at all. Several times I thought I was heading in the right direction, only to literally then find that I had done a big circle. That never usually happens to me...
Still. I have a week to learn the layout. It will be enough.
