Shelby, NC #2

Further wandering around the almost empty town of Shelby, NC.

The man in the USA cap was James Norris, a homeless man sitting on the courthouse steps. I asked him why the town was so empty, and full of beautiful houses that were empty and falling into decay. He said that because there were so few opportunities for young people locally, young people left, and when their parents died and they inherited the homes, the homes were unsaleable. Thus, left to fall apart.
